Country: USA
Region: Sonoma County
Grape Varietal: Pinot Noir
Tasting Note: Aromatically compelling, Fort Ross coastal Pinot tends to show a bright red cherry and light spice nose, with red damson plum skins, notes of conifer (redwood trees), and a saline raspberry, allspice and fresh herb bouquet. In the mouth it is brisk and kinetic, moving all around the palate with cool earth, black raspberry, sweet black plum, tea, quinine, and bergamot flavors. The finish gains some speed, with racy bing and Ranier cherries, and leaves on a crisp, grippy note, reminding you there are tannins present. A nice mouthwatering exit, that lingers.
